Our Story
Carta Healthcare was born from the frustration of slow, manual data collection delaying vital healthcare advancements at Stanford Children’s Hospital. Precious resources were wasted, and insights remained out of reach—until a vision took shape: AI should work in synergy with clinical expertise. This "Hybrid Intelligence" approach propelled Carta Healthcare to become a leader in clinical data abstraction, serving health systems nationwide. Expanding on this foundation, our platform unlocks the true patient story within complex data, delivering precise insights that go beyond efficiency to drive meaningful care improvements. 2016
An MBA candidate at Stanford tackled operating room efficiency at Stanford Children's Hospital. Shocked by manual data's cost & time, he sought a better way: leveraging AI technology.
2017
Fueled by the potential of AI to revolutionize healthcare data, the quest took a significant leap in 2017. A grant from the American College of Cardiology provided the spark, and Carta Healthcare was born, ready to lead the way in clinical data abstraction.
2023
In 2023, Carta Healthcare revolutionized clinical data abstraction with Large Language Models, combining AI with clinical expertise to boost speed, accuracy, and richer insights for transformative healthcare.
